发帖数: 707 | 2 Sidwell和后面几家不是一个档次的, 另外好的两家是St. Albans和 NCS.
录取率太低，才10％左右，据说考不上这几家的才上Potomac School.
最好的private school, 大概上Ivy 的也就1／3。

发帖数: 287 | 3 I heard from my co-worker (American) that it is very had to get into Sidwell
because it has some kind of admission test. I don't think it is hard for
Chinese Kids. :) But at least Sidwell selects its own students. It is a
Quaker (Christian) school. Georgetown Day school, I know a neighbor's kid in
GDS. She did not get into the gifted program. Actually, her mom has to hire
a tutor to help her catch up with math. But her parents successfully sent
her to GDS after they moved. I also happened to know a kid directly came
from China got into GDS because his parents paid tuition at international
rate. GDS is not a good option.

even O8 sent his 2 daughters there, many other politicians did that too
it's all about money and background in that school

发帖数: 707 | 8 其实这些年这些私校现在受到的非议很大， 就是说他们太Elite了。
所以拿很多奖学金给underrepresented groups, 华人吃亏啊。
我邻居家两个娃都很顺利的进SF了，他们家是老爹在Dept Labor, 老妈是家庭妇女。
我问了问，孩子说SF比较注重morality的培养，反正他们没觉得自己因为家里是工薪阶
级受到歧视。
