Senior Clinical Data Programmer
Responsible for all clinical programming on a study:
planning, construction, testing and maintenance of clinical databases in
Oracle Clinical, SAS, or
other DBMSs (i.e. ePower, DataFax). This position acts as lead programmer to
support data
management activities for complex trials and multiple data sources.
Job Components / Major Responsibilities:
• This job description serves only to give a broad outline of the
duties required and will be
renewed and amended at periodic intervals in the consultation with the
Director, Clinical Data
Programming.
• Oversees / completes planning, construction, testing and maintenance
of clinical databases in
Oracle Clinical, ePower, DataFax or SAS for assigned studies.
• Reviews database structures and programming regarding to his/her
area of expertise (i.e.
Oracle Clinical, SAS or other DBMSs).
• Participates in project teams.
• Reviews Case Report Forms and Data Validation Plans regarding to
area of expertise.
• Incorporates all external data sources (e.g. lab, ECG, etc.) with
clinical database.
• Provides technical expertise regarding or relating to area of
expertise.
• Acts as programming contact with sponsor to address database issues
regarding or relating to
area of expertise.
• Line management to other clinical data programmers.
• Participates in initiatives.
• Mentors other CDP staff regarding or relating to area of expertise.
Qualifications:
• B.A. / B.S. degree in a related field.
• Extensive clinical data programming experience or related experience
(including Oracle
Clinical, SAS or other DBMSs).
• Proficiency in Oracle Clinical, SAS or other DBMSs database set-up,
programming and
administration.
• Self-motivated, willing to learn and demonstrates success at current
job.
• Excellent people and communication skills (written and oral).
• Extensive experience and understanding of lab and other third-party
data regarding to his/her
area of expertise (i.e. Oracle Clinical, SAS or other DBMSs).
• Possesses a positive attitude and works well with others.
• Knowledgeable in all areas of database set-up and programming for
clinical studies.
• Demonstrated programming and logic skills. | B*****g
