发帖数: 1028 | 8 Most likely your exhaust pipe before muffler or the muffler itself is rusted
through (you have a hole), depending the size of the hole and rest of
exhaust system shape, it could be repaired or replaced.
Cheap muffler from Midas usually last 2 to 4 years, depending where you
drive, where you park and how far you drive each time. Driving in the area
with winter salt and don't wash it off right away, your cheap muffler will
last a year or two. Park outdoor in humid area and only drive short distance
each time will also help the exhaust system rust much faster.
Sounds like you don't know much about cars, if you have newer car and don't
want to get a new exhaust system every few year, you should have a good ss
system install, which will last the life time of the car.
I put borla in all the new cars I get ASAP simply it is much more difficult
to take off a old rusted dirty exhaust/muffler few years down the road, it
is a piece of cake to unbolt when they are new and shinny. (I would say by
the time it leaked, it is 10 times more work to take off the old one than to
put in the new one)

If you have a newer nice car, buy a good exhaust system, it will last the
lifetime of the car.
If you have a older car or don't plan to keep it long, just get the cheap
one.

$340 is not so bad if the whole exhaust need to be changed out or at least
catalytic converter is in their quote, but depending on what car (still have
no clue on the year and model you got)

which part(s) need to be replaced
I used Midas before. But I haven't had any work done on the exhaust systems
of my cars for a long time. For some reason, the newer car may not need any
exhaust work for their life time.

340 is labour fee from their invoice( don’t they need to replace old pipe??

手去的，以下黑店排名不分先后：
Firestone, MIDAS, walmart (other things ok but NO oil-change)
