Any way it is not hard to do even by yourself (without a lawyer)
I helped a few friends fill out their I-526 form (just follow the simple
instructions), they all got here fairly quickly from China.
The only problem is there are only 10,000 visas per year, not sure it is
used up right now, you have to check.

is very easy to do. So many listed for sale in US right now (just about
every where you want to live).

如果资金来源没问题，投资项目过得去，一般没有问题，律师是次要的。

So far so good, not making as much as they did in China, but still very
comfortable life here in US.

投资移民所须的文件。

My friend moved here in Feb of 08. Opened a teppanyaki restaurant for 1.2M,
60 tables, about 60 workers on week days and near 100 workers on weekends.
So far net profit is at least 40k a month, and over 75k on some good month.
They hire one general manager, several assistant manager. He only visit the
restaurant a few times a month when he is in US (he still have his business
in China)
I know he only takes home 300k to 400K after the tax, it is nothing compare
to a good doctor or lawyer can make, but I think it is not bad for doing
almost nothing.

发帖数: 1028 | 18 I believe they made enough money in China to live comfortable for long time.
过来开餐馆 is just a easy way to get green card (since they have plenty of
money), they don't need the 开餐馆 income to live so to speak.
I am not even sure they want to live in US for long term, but they want to
be here when their kids go to university.
I know 开餐馆 only makes a few hundred K a year, but that is just icing on
the cake for them, US green card is a priceless option if they decide to
move out the China for some reason in the future.

China makes more money, he will stay in China most of time and travel to
here several times every year to relax and keep his green card alive.
Back to 2005, I knew a guy who spent $2M for Green card. What he told me
was "It is ok if I can make some money here. It is not a big deal for me to
lose the money." Your friend and the person I mentioned above are not in
the same category as what we discussed here. They have enough money to
waste, so they do not care whether the project they will invest in fails or
not. They just need the freedom which Green card can bring to them. Their
"comfortable life"s depend on their business in China, not here.
