didn't know until recently that bsd even dosn't have runlevel:( and vtyv8 is

I am using version 4. couldn't install kde through "pkg_add -r kde-lite.tgz"
Many many files can not be fetched.
Any suggestions?
I also tried CVSup to install the profiles first. But, after install, I
could not find the /usr/ports/ directory, neither the KDE stuff.
Any comments?
