global zone is the root zone provides the single instance of running kernel.
and is the only zone aware of all file system and existence of non-global
zones.
non-global zones are virtual hosts with dedicated resources, share the same
kernel with global zone but with same or different sw package and
configuration.
every zone has its own IP/hostname(s), you log into global zone when you use
the hostname for global, use zlogin to log into non-global from global zone

if you login from remote and with the IP/hostname of global zone, you are
also in global zone (you may or may not login as root from remote, depends
on your setup)
