has, probably u2. sun boxes are well known not good at number crunching, get
an alpha for scietific calculation.

8, it is not as stable as linux.

many commercial CAD software support x86 only on solaris,
if your work requires these software, solaris is your only choice.

Now all the other OS like freebsd(from 4.4) all linux distribution put too
many stuff and too many customization in the installation.
recent survey from SUN shows that 75.2% percent answered the question using
solaris x86 on Intel.
for computation, and high speed solaris is not a choice, for stability and
long term running performance, and software compatability solaris still has a

compatible, obsolete?
2. if you want super stable and compatible, you should consider
IBM AS/400, S/390, not UNIX. average downtime tell you which is
a better choice.
