Sr. Software Engineer - Networking and Application
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The PureWave Networking Software Team is responsible for implementation of
our Element Management System and multi-protocol embedded agent for our
WiMAX Base Station. Roles and responsibilities of the Network & Application
Software Engineer include:
• Collaborate in the definition of system architecture
• Write engineering design specifications
• Develop embedded applications
• Interface with our manufacturing department to facilitate production
releases
• Integrate with our WiMAX Base Station application software
This is a full-time position and reports to the Director of Software
REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
• At least 10 years of professional experience; at least 5 years
implementing embedded Linux products
• Excellent development of software written in C
• Deep knowledge SNMP and MIB implementation
• Experience in working with EMS
• Track record of successful products in the field
• Experience with inter-processor communications
• Knowledge of L2-L4 networking protocols – TCP/IP, SNMP, HTTP etc.
• Experience with Hardware/Software integration, use of ICEs,
debuggers,
etc.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
• Experience working in a team environment with extensive use of
version
control systems
DESIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
• Experience with SNMP management protocol
• Experience with FreeScale PowerQuicc II processor architecture

QA Lead Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The PureWave Test Team is responsible for overall system integration and
product testing. Roles and responsibilities of the QA Lead Test Engineer
include:
• System level regression and Alpha testing.
• Create and maintain test plan procedures, processes and results.
• Operate, enhance and maintain automation software suite.
• Documentation of test cases.
• Identification, logging, follow-up and resolution verification of
software
and hardware caveats.
• Close team work with the rest of the testing team and the R&D group.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally at times.
This is a full-time position and reports to the Director of System
Integration, Test & Applications.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
• 7 or more years of relevant work experience in the broadband
wireless
access industry.
• College degree or equivalent required.
• Knowledge in PtP and PtMP Broadband Wireless Access networks.
• Full understanding of modern Digital Radio modulations techniques
and
associated parameters (RSS, SNR/CINR, C/I, C/I+N, CCI, CCA, ACR, Front to
Back ratio, OFDM, OFDMA, QAM).
• Experience with operation of RF test equipment including: VSA, VSG,
Power
meter, Spectrum Analyzer & RF Channel Emulator.
• Ability to define, build and operate complete wireless network
setups.
• Very strong IP networking understanding and experience.
• Understanding of the use, limitations and implications of protocols
such
as: DHCP, PPPoE, VLANs, Mobile IP, IPv4 and IPv6.
• Ability to operate networking benchmarking tools and solutions such

RF Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The PureWave RF Team is responsible for working on RF products intended for
use in medium power WiMAX base stations. Roles and responsibilities of the
RF Engineer include:
• Testing candidate RF components and integrating the completed
transceiver
design onto a printed circuit board.
• Ability to perform transceiver analysis to determine gain and
linearity
requirements.
• Design of active and passive functions to support the overall base
station
function.
• Create, document, and maintain procedures, processes and results.
• Meet with vendors to source best option purchasing.
• Close team work with the rest of the hardware team and the R&D group.
This is a full-time position and reports to the Vice President of
Engineering.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
• 4 or more years of relevant work experience in the broadband
wireless
access industry.
• College degree or equivalent required.
• Familiarity and demonstrated experience with OFDM signals, direct
conversion transceivers, heterodyne transceivers, low noise synthesizers,
power amplifiers up to ~5W average power
• Experience with testing and integration of multifunction RF
assemblies and
signal processing boards
• Experience in the 500MHz to 6GHz frequency range.
• Familiarity with Orcad schematic capture and PADS PCB layout tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under aggressive project
time-
lines.
• Time management skills and attention to fine detail.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
