l****z 发帖数: 29846 | 1 The Consumer Price Index (CPI) climbed 1.3% in June, accelerating from May's
1% increase.
It surged 9.1% from last year, up from 8.6% in May and more than the 8.8%
economists had expected, in the greatest 12-month increase for the index
since November 1981.
The rise was broad-based, with prices for gasoline and food contributing the
most to the increase. The core rate, which excludes more volatile food and
energy prices, was 0.7% higher in June, up from May 0.6% gain. It rose 5.9%
from a year ago, slowing slightly from May's 6% increase. Economists had
expected an annual gain of 5.7%. |
