杀，或者吓跑criminals的因为没有新闻价值根本不会被关注。我估计每年拿枪自卫免
受伤害人数的应该比mass shooting死的人多上千倍

These are killing a a felon during the commitment of a crime. Separately 400
to 500 shooting death by law enforcermemt.
There are also situations where
Shots fired bad guys wounded
Shots fired bad guys ran away
Guns simply brandished and bad guys ran away
I d not be surprised if each scenario is a few times as many as the prior.
So may be a couple thousand or so bad guys wounded. 10 thousand or so bad
guns scared away by gun shots. 100 thousand bad guys scared away by simply
showing one is armed.
This is not outlandish cos various estimates put successful self defense
with firearms at a few hundred thousand to a couple million times a year.
Also. Given there are 700thousand aggravated assault and 100 thousand rapes
each year and millions of violent property crimes. A couple hundred thousand
defensive use of guns to protect life and property is plausible.

each year
10000 firearm homicide death.
7000+ known to be by hand guns.
300+ known to be rifles,
300+ known to be shotguns.
Rifles account for ~3%. Ar15 accounts for 40% rifles sold recent years,
maybe 20-30% of all rifles, so ar15 may account for 1-2% of all firearm
homicides. Hand guns account for 70%.
Each year. 250 justified firearm killings by civilians. I gave examples in
the past few years, just those news articles document 2-3 bad guys killed
each year by ar15s. So a good guess is 1-2% of defensive kills are with ARs.
So ar15s appear in crimes no more than in defensive uses.
There are 10-20million ARs in the country. The numbers ended up in crimes
are very very small.
And the pattern in those news articles is clear. One home owner facing 2,3,4
armed intruders. One incident, the home owner was shot and wounded but
managed to kill 2 of the 4 intruders.

When u put guns in good hands they protect. In wrong hands they destroy.
The left try to paste over the surface instead of addressing the real issue.
Like the parkland shooter. He was in juvenile facility but the school went
out of their way to bring him back and kept him in the school despite all
the warning signs. They actually tried everything NOT to raise a red flag.
Why because they get bonus if “no student got into trouble “
