Trump says he won't meet with Xi before March 1 deadline

President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Thursday that he won't
meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping before March 1, the deadline for the
90-day trade war ceasefire the two leaders agreed to in December.
The big picture: U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury
Secretary Steve Mnuchin will travel to Beijing next week for another round
of trade talks, Bloomberg reports. If a deal is not struck by the end of the
month, Trump has said he will raise tariff rates on $200 million worth of
Chinese goods from 10% to 25%. |

总统川普今天表示，他并未计画在美中两国达成贸易协议的3月1日期限前与中国国家主
席习近平会面。
川普在白宫答覆记者有关是否已安排在一个月内与习近平会面的问题时说：「还没有。」
记者追问川习会是否可能在3月1日前登场，他说：「不会。」
川普先前表示，美中贸易争端要获得最终解决方案，有赖他和习近平在「近期内」会面
。由于川普2月底将飞往越南，与北韩领导人金正恩举行高峰会，外界揣测他可能趁便
