发帖数: 8 | 1 Passed the boards...This is my honest opinion about XX online review
and XX College. Hope this helps those about to take the boards and those
about to start at XX college.
I chose XX online review because they advertise a 97% 1st pass rate. I also
bought the review book from Barnes and Nobles. I did the entire course,
pretest and book questions....I passed my first time so i guess their
advertising is correct but, i felt, there were, maybe, only 10 of the 150
question from the test that were covered in the review. When starting the
test i did not feel prepared and became scared. This could have been my
nerves. I feel that i could contribute my success with what i learned at XX
more than what i reviewed through XX. With that knowledge i wish i had used
XX or XX so i could have felt more comfortable.
XX college (professionally)....I absolutely loved the program, on-line
platform and my student adviser XX. XX college does prepare you well and
does whatever they can to help you succeed "professionally." Trust the
system....
XX college (personally)....I am a politically conservative leaning
independent who can be very outspoken at times. During our site visit after
Health Assessment i shared a story about an "illegal/undocumented" immigrant
girl who died horribly from a tylenol overdose and how it affected me and
our staff. After the visit i was requested to have a VTC for violation of
the schools microaggression policy. I used the term "Illegal" immigrant and
it offended the faculty....I was told there were no complaints from other
students, just faculty, if there were i would have been put on probation or
expelled. I received a formal reprimand and required to email an apology
letter to all the faculty in attendance that day in order to continue in the
program. Of course.....I did so.
Also, there are two courses that will require open discussion of healthcare
topics. In one course, at the time, i was emailed by the instructor and told
not to give my opinions anymore after i stated, in class, it was my opinion
that obamacare would fail horribly because you cant place a socialist
program that grand in a capitalistic environment. My first paper in that
class was a 97% each paper after the email was no better than an 88%.
I was told that it would be hard for me to get women's health clinical hours
as a male student......for that reason males probably shouldn't become XX (
remember XX college used to be primarily female only school and this was an
older instructor). Throughout my time i found two other guys with similar
experiences and we formed a group so we could vent because our complaints to
our student advisers fell on deaf ears. Again, this was only three
experiences in my 2 years with XX college and all the other instructors i
really enjoyed.
In Summary, my suggestions. If your conservative leaning......keep your
mouth SHUT!! unless you are an outstanding communicator and willing to
accept possible backlash. If your a guy....find another guy or a good female
friend as a support.....Nonetheless i would still recommend XX college to
others and have helped 3 people get accepted to the program because i
believe its that good of an education.
I hope this helps. You can take my advice to heart or blow me off as a quack
.......either way.....im done!!!!!! HOORAY!!! |
