House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi just emerged from the House Democrats
Caucus meeting and spoke to reporters.
“We had a great discussion in our Caucus,” the California Democrat said.
“A dark cloud hangs over the Capitol. It’s called the GOP Tax Scam, the
Trump Tax Scam, and that has led to the Trump Shutdown.”
Asked about how House Democrats will vote on a continuing resolution, Pelosi
said, “Some people see a path by voting yes, some no.”
But they are all unified by the same goal, Pelosi said. “Everybody agrees
whether they vote yes or they vote no that we must have an omnibus soon — a
bill that funds our military, opioids, veterans, the list goes on and on,”
she said.
Asked about whether there would be a vote on immigration, Pelosi said, “
Everybody keeps forgetting the larger issue here is the budget. Our fight
all along has been we want parity in the budget between our defense budget,
which we support, and our domestic budget, which we need.” |
