judges to enforce Alabama’s same-sex marriage ban after the Supreme Court
ruled it legal, Roy Moore is still going to get a hefty pension for his time
at the helm of the state’s highest court.
As AL.com reports, the Alabama state board that oversees judicial retirement
on Friday approved an annual pension of $135,845.
When and if Moore becomes Alabama’s next senator, he will make an
additional $174,000 per year in salary, that will bring his annual income to
over $309,845.
As the report notes, Moore’s suspension this year (which he followed up
with a resignation as he announced his Senate bid) was not the first time
the former judge had been effectively fired. In 2003, he was removed from
his time at the helm of the Alabama Supreme Court after he refused to “
follow a federal judge’s order to remove a Ten Commandments monument he had
placed in the lobby of the state judicial building.” He was then elected
chief justice again in 2012. | d******k 发帖数: 76 | 2 吃龙虾的龙虾党一直是温拿
