Warren (D-Mass.) offered words of encouragement to fellow Sen. Kamala Harris
(D-Calif.) Wednesday after she was scolded during a Senate Intelligence
Committee hearing.
“Silencing Kamala Harris for not being ‘courteous’ enough is just
unbelieveable,” Warren tweeted. "Keep fighting, Kamala! #
NeverthelessShePersisted.”
Harris was questioning Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on whether he
would sign off to give special counsel Robert Mueller full independence from
the Justice Department probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign
and Russian election meddling.
“Will the senator suspend? The chair is going to exercise its right to
allow the witnesses to answer the question, and the committee is on notice
to provide the witness the courtesy, which has not been extended all the way
across. Extend the courtesy for questions to get answered,” Committee
Chairman Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) interjected.
“Mr. Chairman, respectfully, this witness has joked as we all have about
his ability to filibuster,” Harris said.
“The senator will suspend. Mr. Rosenstein would you like to answer the
question,” Burr interrupted.
