The Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday released the opening
statement former FBI Director James Comey is expected to deliver during a
highly anticipated appearance on Thursday.
Comey will confirm reports that President Trump pressed him to “let go” of
the bureau’s investigation into former national security advisor Michael
Flynn.
Comey also will say that the president said to him, "I need loyalty. I
expect loyalty."
Comey also confirms Trump's claim that he assured the president personally
he was not under investigation, according to his statement.
