Saturday report that five women who accused him over the years of sexual
harassment were paid a combined $13 million.
More than 3.76 million people watched “The O’Reilly Factor” at 8 p.m. on
Tuesday, a 20 percent jump from the Tuesday edition one week prior,
according to Nielsen Research.
O'Reilly's Tuesday program even beat offerings on ABC and NBC at that hour,
in a rare victory for a cable network over broadcast television.
The ratings bump comes despite major advertisers pulling their ads from the
show since Saturday’s report.
More than 30 companies have dropped their ads from the Fox prime-time cable
program, according to CNBC.
Jenny Craig, Subaru, Ancestry, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, BMW of North America,
Mitsubishi Motors, Lexus, Constant Contact, Bayer, Ainsworth Pet Nutrition,
Orkin, Untuckit, Allstate, Esurance, T. Rowe Price, GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi
and Credit Karma were among the companies.
Fox indicated in a statement on Tuesday that ads were being shifted to other
programs on the network.
O'Reilly's program has been the highest rated in cable news for 15
consecutive years. |

外的时间段，等于没损失多少钱。

这是一个认识误区，cable news还是fee收入大头。
Fox News, the revenue leader, was projected to grow its revenue by 14% to $2
.3 billion. CNN was projected to grow by 6% to $1.2 billion, and MSNBC, by 3
% to $518 million.
Cable channels draw revenue from two main sources –advertising and
subscriber (affiliate) fees, which come out of consumers’ monthly cable
bills. Fox News was projected to grow its subscriber fee revenue by 17% to $
1.4 billion in 2015 (compared with CNN’s 4% growth to $736 million and
MSNBC’s 2% growth to $278 million).
In advertising, CNN was projected to experience the strongest rate of growth
at 11% to $377 million (compared with Fox News’ 6% growth to $844 million
and MSNBC’s projected growth of 6% to $234 million).
