writing the first draft of his inaugural address, The Washington Post
reported Wednesday.
Trump hopes to draw inspiration from former Presidents John F. Kennedy and
Ronald Reagan for the speech, according to the report, which specifically
mentioned Reagan's "style" and Kennedy's ability to articulate big, national
goals.
Trump is “enamored with Reagan’s confident style and how he connected with
the country,” one person who spoke to Trump told the Post. The president-
elect is also inspired by Kennedy’s ability “to get the country motivated,
to go to the moon,” the person also said.
Earlier this week, Trump's transition team said Stephen Miller, an adviser
and speechwriter, would write the inaugural address that Trump will deliver
Jan. 20. |
