During the primaries I voted for Bernie Sanders. My husband and I donated
money we didn't have to his campaign, and I devoted a lot of time and energy
to getting him nominated, because he gave me something I had never
experienced in politics: genuine hope. I truly believed he was going to win
since almost all the other people I met along the way felt the same as I did
, and worked as hard (often harder than me) to get him elected, and there
were so many of us.
If our election process was truly an election by the people, he would have
won. As we know, it's since come out that we the people no longer have
actual power to elect our leaders. The whole thing has been exposed to be a
reality show that none of us asked to be a part of. Bernie was a threat. He
couldn't be bought, and therefore couldn't be controlled. A lot of my
friends were really mad at him and called him a sellout, but I'll always
believe his family was threatened if he didn't step down and play ball.
One of the many things he said that stuck with me was his urgency that I
vote my conscience. Climate change and marijuana legalization are two of the
most important issues to me, with student debt a close second, so it was
natural for me and my husband to take a closer look at Jill Stein's platform
, and decide to vote for her.
In retrospect the only thing I strongly disliked about Bernie was how much
he harped on Donald Trump being dangerous. Between that and the evil tricks
designed to make Trump and his supporters look like deranged racist maniacs,
I am ashamed to say that I was actually scared of him being president. We
live in a southern state where there is still a strong undercurrent of
racism, and that was definitely not a direction I wanted to contribute to.
I've recently repented of believing the worst about a huge group of my
fellow Americans because they have proven to me that they are actually a
great bunch of people. I and a lot of my Elf friends have been treated like
garbage throughout pretty much this whole year because we wouldn't check our
brains at the door and blindly "vote blue." I'm not a Republican, but I'm
not a Democrat either, and it blew my mind how arrogant and hateful a lot of
the "blue" voters are, and how cowardly the other ones are to not call them
out on it. Donald Trump's people, though, are by far the nicest and highest
energy bunch of people I could ever meet.
Now I wasn't voting for Jill out of bitterness, I was voting my conscience,
just like Bernie told all of us to do before he was forced to say and do
what he's doing now. Even after I built bridges between me and Trump's
people I was going to vote for her.
Last night's debate changed everything.
I've never been a fan of HC, but her increasing arrogance and disgusting
smug attitude reached peak levels last night. She refused to answer the most
critical questions. She laughed and smiled as she bragged about Bernie
campaigning for her (which isn't entirely the truth; he's been campaigning
for Our Revolution and supporting progressive candidates across the country)
. But the thing that troubled me the most was the complete disregard of
national security: to so flippantly remark about nuclear fucking war, to
state the precise amount of time from orders to execution, and to do all of
it just to try to make herself appear to be far more informed, qualified,
and intelligent than her opponent was beyond the pale.
I'm terrified of her now and nothing, absolutely nothing will make me see
her as anything other than a tyrant on her way to the throne. Even if a
single email had never been released, or a single Congressional hearing, or
a single FBI criminal investigation had happened, her flippant attitude
about firing nuclear weapons scared the shit out of me.
I had been going to vote for Jill. Not because I believed she could win (
although that would be awesome), but because I wanted to do my part to get
federal funding for a new party, and vote my conscience. Now, though, I
literally believe the fate of the world rests on all of us being unified and
electing Donald Trump.
Whatever he may have done or said in his past makes absolutely no difference
in comparison to her willingness, even eagerness, to declare the most
dangerous, deadly, and devastating form of warfare imaginable. I can't
afford to take any chances. She must be stopped.
I hope Jill knows how sorry I am that I am forced to change my vote. I
believe in her and everything she stands for, and in a perfect democracy I
would have been able to cast my vote for the candidate I most agree with.
She is strong and courageous, and she can't be bought and she doesn't give
up. But Trump has all those qualities too, and he is closer to defeating
literal evil incarnate than she is. For now, the imminent threat to our
planet is widespread and irreparable damage done in an instant. By voting
against nuclear war, I believe I am doing the most important thing in my
power to protect our climate and all living things.
In closing I'd like to say how delighted I am in the irony, that the person
the establishment tried to use to chase me to HC in terror is the very
person I will vote for, and encourage others to vote for, because of how
terrified I am of HC. I no longer think he is the lesser of two evils. I
think he is more equipped to DRAIN THE SWAMP.
Sorry this is long but sometimes us plant people can be long winded. :P
TL;DR: I'm voting for Trump because he's not the one who is a loose cannon.
SHE is!!! (My heart is heavy because I realized I don't have the luxury of
choice. SHE must be stopped at all costs.)
Edit: Wow, I never expected to get this much of a response! I just can't get
over how warm and welcoming centipedes are. I'm proud to be counted among
you. And thanks for all the coats! I have enough to pass out to all the new
centipedes I'm helping wake up! Thanks guys! MAGA!!!!
EDIT 2: I think there's been some confusion about the "elf" thing. Today is
the first time I've ever heard of an ecoterrorist group with that word as an
acronym. I really care about the environment, but the extent of it is
recycling and not using RoundUp. I was actually making a reference to LOTR
and how so many different races came together with one specific purpose:
TAKE DOWN THE LIDLESS EYE (or the inwardly rolling eye, that works too) So,
not a terrorist in any way shape or form. Sorry about that!! | g********2

不过你这么想，她这么注重气候变化的人，也不上整体把气候变化吊在嘴边的希拉里，
也算是个明事理的人了，尽管有点晚，但总算还来得及。
