I feel the same way about Pennsylvania that you do about Florida. Many
people in PA are saying the same neighborhoods that were littered with Obama
signs in 2008 and 2012 are now seeing a preponderence of Trump signs in
2016. The Axiom battleground polls (which receive far too little attention)
also show that Trump is easily swinging two heavily populated counties that
Obama won into the red. Trump's rallies here in 2016 compared to Romney's (
coupled with Hillary's rallies here compared to Obama's) are startling in
their differences in energy and turnout, and the primary results are yet
another indicator of big changes in the Keystone state. The fact is that
Mitt Romney won Pennsylvania by over 200,000 votes if you back out
Philadelphia county. If Trump merely grows that margin by 4% among the over
80% white voters in these areas, he'd have a lead of over 500,000 and
Hillary would have to pull Obama-level turnout and margins in Philly county
to pull off a razor-tight comeback. Pennsylvania is likely where this
election will be won. I think that the experts and pollsters are missing
what is going on here. |
