New evidence has emerged that Melania Trump may not have been the “model”
immigrant she claims to be.
An immigration attorney who worked for the Trump Organization told Univision
he obtained a green card “based on marriage” for Melania in 2001.
Just one potential problem — that was four years before her wedding to
Donald Trump.
Melania, 46, told Larry King in 2005 she had not been married before meeting
her billionaire husband, Univision reported.
When pressed to explain the provocative new development, the immigration
attorney, Michael Wildes, clammed up.
“Ms. Trump received citizenship in 2006 and prior to that she had a green
card based on marriage,” Wildes told the network. “Before that, she had a
work visa and was in full compliance on her visas and never disrespected any
of them. That has been made clear to me.”
Melania’s immigration status became an issue last week after racy photos of
her in the U.S., and dating back to 1995, emerged — raising questions
about how the Slovenian-born model would have been able to legally work in
the United States.
Melania has repeatedly said she first came to the U.S. in 1996 as a tourist
on a short-term visa.
But those documents wouldn’t have allowed her to legally work in the
