Dr. James Milgram, Math expert, exposes Common Core Math as insufficient. Dr
. Milgram was THE math PHD on the validation committee of Common Core. He
opposes common core, refused to sign a rubber stamp letter the Core
organization asked him to sign.
1. He points out that the core math standard is extremely low. stops at
Algebra II. Students with max math of Algebra II has only 39% probability to
graduate college in any major, only 2% probability to graduate college in
STEM field. yes 2%.
2. Original standard stops at Algebra I. He fought the writers to put in
Algebra II. After which he was formally informed to shut up.
3. The standard dictates on teach methodologies, there were no research
backing these methodologies, many of which were proven to be bad. therefore
the 18 different ways to do 3+2.
4. There were no pilot programs. The standards were written behind back door.
5. Obama used Fed funding to shove the Core down the States' throat.
6. One of the guys who wrote the math standard admit the core standard preps
kids for "colleges the kids go to, but not those their parents aspire to"
7. In another video, Dr. Milgram said that when justifying such low
standards, the word "SOCIAL JUSTICE" came up. he was talking specifically
about the MATH standards for gods sake.
Dr Sandra Stotsky speaking on the inferiority of the Common Core ELA
standards. Dr Stotsky was THE English language PHD on the validation
committee of Common Core. She also refused to sign a rubber stamp letter.
She also pointed out a few facts that:
1. Common Core was designed by Gates foundation and a few test organizations.
2. There were no input from high school teachers, college professors, school
boards, state education officials. the standard writing process were cut
very short.
3. Obama Admin then used tax payer funds to push these standards
4. the head of Core is making 750k a year salary from private test companies
plus "consulting" fees "helping" schools implementing the Core. So do a few
of the writers.
also "social justice math" is apparently a thing some people take seriously,
like this dude at UIC. The UIC that staged the anti trump protest. | r*s
