Donald Trump and Marco Rubio as harming the Republican Party's brand while
casting recent Republican debates as "embarrassing."
"He damaged the image of the Republican Party. I think they both did,"
Malek, the finance chairman of the Republican Governors Association, said
Tuesday on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports."
"These last two debates were embarrassing..This is something that wouldn't
be acceptable in a high school presidency election, this is schoolyard stuff
. It doesn't belong in a presidential election."
Nearly two weeks ago, Rubio came out swinging against Trump, saying the
front-runner had small hands. "And you know what they say about men with
small hands?" Rubio asked his town hall audience, pausing several seconds,
before adding, "you can't trust them."
Then, during last Thursday's debate, Trump noted took issue with those
comments, saying, "He referred to my hands — if they are small, something
else must be small. I guarantee you, there's no problem." |
