deliver Wednesday: Donald Trump is not a true New Yorker.
Chanting “enough is enough” and “dump Trump,” members of the City
Council, led by the Council's Democratic speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito,
railed against the Republican frontrunner during a boisterous rally on the
steps of City Hall, in the wake of comments Trump made this week proposing "
a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.”
Mark-Viverito — who has criticized Trump in the past for his comments about
Latinos, immigrants and women — warned about the danger of Trump’s
inflammatory language, adding that bias attacks in the city would not be
tolerated. |
