l****z 发帖数: 29846 | 1 Wednesday night’s GOP debate on CNN was a YUUUGE — I’m so clever —
ratings draw for the news network, bringing in the largest audience in its
35-year history.
While the numbers are impressive, the folks at CNN shouldn’t start patting
themselves on the back just yet, because according to one Republican
candidate — you probably already know who I’m talking about — believes
the success is all because of him.
Check it out.
From TheBlaze:
An estimated 22.9 million people tuned in for Wednesday’s second
presidential primary debate on CNN.
The Nielsen company said the viewership fell short of Fox News Channel’
s 24 million for the first debate in August, but it still represented the
largest audience in CNN’s 35-year history. The previous high was the 16.8
million people who watched a “Larry King Live” episode in 1993 with Vice
President Al Gore and Ross Perot.
Donald Trump was quick to take credit for the network’s milestone,
asking CNN on Twitter if they planned to thank him and send him flowers.
Just announced that in the history of @CNN, last night’s debate was its
highest rated ever. Will they send me flowers & a thank you note?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 17, 2015
Apparently, CNN’s Brian Stelter actually sent some flowers, though I’m not
positive about the thank you note.
While Trump’s comment is comical, he’s likely being serious, and in all
honesty, he’s probably right.
When is the last time you heard 22 million people tuned into a political
debate? Exactly.
Some might hate the fact that Trump is a celebrity, and I agree there comes
a point when his larger-than-life persona overshadows the issues, but it’s
hard to deny the positive impact his presence is having on the election.
Think of it this way.
Even if you’re not a Trump fan, he’s drawing in viewers to a debate they
may not have watched otherwise, and as a result, people are getting exposed
to the message of liberty and the views of other candidates, helping
individuals become better informed voters.
I’d say that’s definitely a good thing.
Hopefully, even if Trump fades away, the excitement, buzz, and engagement
that’s been present during this primary will carry into the general
election next year and conservatives can take back the White House. | t********e 发帖数: 931 | | s*x 发帖数: 8041 | |
