to what I said, we perhaps did not lock some people who should have been.
But you assume that those being locked definitely committed more serious
crimes than those who 偷盗800以下, which I am not so sure about.
Check what Ron and Rand said about this issue. Not all conservatives are

在天朝收枪跟美国收枪，对普通华裔居民来说完全不是一回事。
假设在两国收枪都有效，犯罪分子只能拿刀具作案，
那么在中国，体型差不多，犯罪分子的身体优势不是特别显著。
而在美国，黑人明显在体型和体能上远胜于普通华人。同样无枪的情况下，黑人进入华
人家，可以轻易把华人灭门。即使走在街上，高大强壮的黑人扭断华人脖子也是几秒钟
的事。对走在街上的华人来说，黑人是持枪抢劫还是持刀抢劫，没有什么差别。

As a fiscal conservative, I worry about this. The same logic goes to whether
US should spend more money guarding the boarders between N and S Koreas,
between China and Japan, between all those countries in MENA, or spend more
money guarding US's south boarder.

As for the overall budget, you do need to cut accross the board as
Ron Paul had been suggesting. GOP and DEM have been playing this game
all along by allowing each other to spend more on their own interests.
You won't cut anything under this scheme. Matter of fact, the federal
debt increases faster under GOP's presidents. Only fools look at linear
charts and numbers. Learn something about compound growth.
