from shelves at the Ohio store where a 22-year-old man holding an air rifle
was fatally shot by police.
A spokesman for the world's largest retailer tells The Associated Press that
the move last week was a store-specific decision, not a change in national
policy.
A special grand jury in the racially charged case decided last week that
officers' actions Aug. 5 were justified. Police responded to a 911 call that
a man was waving what appeared to be a rifle, and officers have said John
Crawford III, who was black, was shot after not responding to commands to
drop his weapon.
It turned out to be an air rifle.
A family attorney calls Wal-Mart's action "about eight weeks too late." | n****g
