One of Michael Bloomberg's outspoken "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" has been
arrested in a gun-related incident.
James Schiliro, the mayor of Marcus Hook, Penn., is facing multiple criminal
charges, including reckless endangerment after a drunken encounter resulted
in the discharge of a firearm:
According to court documents, the mayor is accused of having a police
officer pick up a 20-year-old friend in a police cruiser and bring him to
his home. Inside, the mayor allegedly served the minor alcohol and asked for
sexual favors.
When the man refused, the mayor allegedly told him he was a hostage and
fired his gun inside of the home, court documents said.
More from the Philadelphia Inquirer (emphasis mine):
According to court records Schiliro had three handguns, which he waved about
. At one point he placed a gun to his head and said "he didn't want to live
anymore," according to the court documents.
Schiliro fired a gun into the floor. He also told then 20-year-old he was a
hostage, according to the documents, and the young man told investigators he
feared for his life.
Ballistics tests done by the investigators confirmed a bullet found in a
wall in Schiliro's home did match one of the guns. Schiliro sold eight
weapons shortly after the incident, according to court records.
Big H/T to Doug Powers, who notes that Schiliro's name has since
mysteriously disappeared from the Mayors Against Illegal Guns list of
supporters.
In related stories, the Mayors Against Illegal Guns should encourage its
members and former members to also be against illegal drunk driving,
corruption,bribes and child sex crimes.
Bloomberg obviously needs stricter background checks for his gun control
bunch. |
