the Obamacare.
In theory, there will be some savings under the Obamacare also, some of
which you might call wishful thinking... I am not an expert on this topic,
but I think these are the savings touted:
1) Tort reform will bring down the cost of medical malpractice insurance
costs;
2) The uninsured will use less of costly emergency services because they can
use the regular services now;
3) Preventive medicine will lower the long term cost;
4) Digitalized medical records will improve efficiency;
5) Currently the doctors get paid by services. That provides incentives for
them to prescribe wasteful services. They will be encouraged to cure the
patients not merely prescribe expensive services.
Both sides recognize the need to reform the medical services (one out of 6
dollars goes to this segment each year). But the republicans recommend a
more voucher-based approach which encourage more people to take care of
their own health. |

According to the CBO's assessment, the medical malpractice insurance is a
small portion of the whole medical spending. I really the "pay for service"
system is the biggest contributor of inefficiency |

它们医疗开支占GDP的比重不比美国高?

it does not matter we the tax payers pay the medical, hospital bill for the
poor, or pay their insurance premiun. It is the same. We pay their health
costs, one way or the other, the actual bill or the premium.
It is actually worse if we have to pay the premium becuase now the insurance
company has more clients (the government just forced the insurance company
to accpet more people but not pay the insurance companies at the same
premium rate), and their profit margin is always the same, menaing that they
now need to collect more revenue (i.e. more premium). Where those extra
premium come from? not theose new clients, but us, the existing clients.
With Obamacare, we not only pay extra premium but also have to pay for the
insurance company operations costs as well as the hospital operations costs.

发帖数: 1136 | 10 我另一贴上说了。德国是GDP的11%，英国9%，而美国则是16%（一说18%)。刚才又有人
说了加拿大医疗费用是GDP的11%。
这些国家除了美国都是全民健保。
