(CNSNews.com) – A new Gallup survey found that 46 percent of Americans
think the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, will
hurt the economy. The same poll found that only 37 percent think the law
will help the economy – among Democrats, 20 percent said the health care
law would hurt the economy.
The divide showed that the unpopular law remains divisive despite the fact
that the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that its underpinning – the mandate
requiring Americans to buy health insurance – is constitutional as “a tax.”
According to the survey, 78 percent of Republicans and 47 percent of
independents thought the law would harm the economy while 62 percent of
Democrats thought it would help.
20 percent of Democrats said the law would hurt the economy.
“Views of the economic impact of the ACA [Affordable Care Act] are, as is
true with everything else about the legislation, bound up with politics,”
reported Gallup. “Republicans, who generally oppose the ACA,
overwhelmingly think it will hurt the economy, while Democrats, who
generally favor it, think it will help. Independents tilt toward the ‘hurt
’ rather than the ‘help’ position.”
The survey, telephone interviews of a random sample of 1,061 adults, was
conducted July 2-3 and had a margin of error of +/- 4 points. | P*********0 发帖数: 4321 | 2 by what?
