You just can’t make this stuff up. The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting
the following:
Vice-President Joe Biden had his “oops” moment Wednesday speaking in a
49er-crazed San Francisco when he told a crowd at a city political
fundraiser that “the Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl.”
Of course Biden tried to spin his gaffe:
After suggesting that the Giants were heading to the Super Bowl, Biden
quickly recognized the gaffe and and explained he was accustomed to thinking
in terms of the San Francisco Giants and their baseball wins. His next
reference was to the “49ers on their way” to the Big Game.
No amount of spin can remove the egg on Biden’s face. He mentioned the
Super Bowl, which has nothing to do with baseball, and professsional
baseball games in the USA are not played at this time of year.
Only time will tell if the TV talk-show hosts make Biden the butt of their
jokes in response to Biden’s gaffe. He is already the butt of that joke
called the Obama Administration. |
