Americans clearly are becoming more and more disillusioned with Washington.
Indeed, a new Gallup poll shows that our view of the federal government has
hit an all-time low.
The survey indicates that a paltry 17 percent of Americans have a positive
feeling about the government, while 63 percent hold a negative view. Both
numbers are the worst on record since the survey began in 2001.
The government is at the bottom of the list measuring approval of 25
industry sectors. “The federal government has been near the bottom of the
list in previous years, but is at the absolute bottom this year for the
first time, displacing the oil and gas industry,” Gallup’s report states.
The computer industry tops the list, with 72 percent of poll respondents
holding a favorable opinion of it, compared with 10 percent with negative
sentiment. |
