social security and immigration benefits. Those are federal level benefits.
Right now, the Federal Government does not treat same-sex relationships as
marriages
even if they are recognized by the state, because of Defense of Marriage Act
(DOMA).
Therefore, even Californian married same-sex couples still are not entitled
to those benefits.
There are two things we should do: repeal DOMA and legalize the same-sex
