Texas beer joint sues church...

Laugh A Little
In a small Texas town, ( Mt. Vernon ) Drummond’s bar began construction on
a new building to increase their business.. The local Baptist church started
a campaign to block the bar from opening with petitions and prayers. Work
progressed right up till the week before opening when lightning struck the
bar and it burned to the ground.
The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, until the bar
owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately
responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or
indirect actions or means.
The church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the
building's demise in its reply to the court.
As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork. At
the hearing he commented, “I don't know how I’m going to decide this, but
as it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in the
power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that does not.” |

寓言都要刪除的話， 耶穌還剩幾句話？

Do they set aside their faith, and their pride in it, when faith becomes inconvenient? Or do they stand up for their beliefs and proudly proclaim them, even when doing so is to their disadvantage, financial or otherwise?

我和基督徒切磋幾年了, 發現有些問題基督徒不能回答，
現在嘗試整理一下。
第一個問題： 禱告是不是可以要求神做什麼？
通常是有基督徒上來要大家為什麼事情禱告， 比方說要神照顧死者的孤兒寡母， 或者
是見證禱告的效力。 甚至還有找不到鑰匙也禱告(以前中時記者彭蕙仙就在blog裡說過
這個)， 如果有人問是不是希望神改變他原來不太好的計畫，改用基督徒的計畫， 比
方說基督徒是相信神不會照顧孤兒寡母，所以必須求神去照顧。 點出這點之後， 基督
徒通常就立刻退縮回去， 說祈禱只是和神溝通， 不是求這求那用的。
但是這也不妨礙同個基督徒下次又來發動禱告，求這求那。
