恩基的主要事迹
制造人类
在苏美尔、阿卡德和巴比伦的创世纪中，创世的工作经历了六个世代的神，创世之末，
老一辈的神同时也创造了较为年轻的一代神祇。第七代之后的神质疑为何要做创造的工
作，于是罢工。恩基提议让众神制作人类，让人类代替神祇继续创造的工作，众神同意
了。于是，马杜克用红土混合蒂雅玛特的红色血液捏成形（另有一说是用金古之血），
再由恩基吹入空气，人类就此诞生。
混乱人类的语言
Once upon a time there was no snake, there was no scorpion,

There was no wild dog, no wolf,

在大洪水时拯救人类
在苏美神话中，恩基曾帮助人类逃过大洪水的劫难。阿拉哈西斯（Atrahasis）神话中
，恩尼尔觉得人类太吵，于是放出洪水、干旱和瘟疫来消灭他们。但是，恩基传授阿拉
哈西斯灌溉、贮存谷物以及医药的知识，人类因此得以存活下来。恩尼尔相当生气，决
定秘密召几位神来放一次巨大的洪水完全灭绝人类，但是还是被恩基知道，并且事先安
排乌塔那匹兹姆(Utnapishtim)搭船避难，日后便予乌塔那匹兹姆永生的能力，嘱其隐
居深山。恩尼尔大怒，控告恩基妨碍他的计划，恩基则向他解释，为了必须的平衡，不
应该完全灭绝无辜的人类，让剩下来的人类进行节育即可。但是，相对地，如果人类不
信神祇而堕落，就可以任凭众神屠杀。很显然地这是诺亚方舟类似故事的最早版本。
