做好保养都没事。

还想问一下在national park里一些unpaved的路,是不是我这非四驱的camry就不要进
去了,免得挂在半路上。。。

一路平安,enjoy the trip | h********e 发帖数: 1130 | 5 which highway you will take? suggest to take 40/44, the route to denver
might be still snowy.
how many days you plan to drive? 7 days is good.
camry is fine in most part of the National park. if you only have 7 days,
you don't have time to explore the wildness
do you drive solo? if yes, then plan where to stop (motel 6 or super 8) is
good for flexibility. | p*********x 发帖数: 128 | 6 非常感谢,放心很多 :)

| p*********x 发帖数: 128 | 7 Thank you. I am still planning the route. Now I have three choices:
1. interstate 70/15, as you said, it could be snowy and might be boring in
Kansas, but could enter Utah from north and visit all the NPs down to the
south
2. us route 50, legendary but could be very rough and we might be lost on
the road...
3. interstate 40/44, as you suggest, south and warm
It might take 7-8 days and my girlfriend will accompany me though I would
drive by myself all the way
flexibility is quite important for this trip. I guess I would select motel 6
and super 8 for most nights. thank you for this :)

option 1 (don't recommend)
if really really want to take northern route:
chicago --> Sioux Falls --> Rapid City, badlands np, black hill, wind
cave np, south dakota --> denver --> colorado springs --> Taos --> Santa Fe
--> ABQ
option 2 (preferred)
I assume you and your girlfriend leave end of Feb?Highway 40/44 is your best
bet, the route in the north is unpredictable, especially you drive your own
car, not rental car. even you drive rental car, weather is unpredictable
and unpleasant any way.
day 1: drive all the way to Tulsa
day 2: drive all the way to Santa Fe (may stop for 30 min at CADILLAC RANCH,
Amarillo)
rest of 5 days will be the highlight, you have two options:
SANTA FE
ABQ
Bosque del Apache
white sand dune
Las Cruces
Tucson
Phoenix
Joshua tree
PALM SPRINGS
Santa Monica Pier
OR
SANTA FE
ABQ
Gallup
Petrified Forest
Canyon de Chelly (maybe)
Winslow
Flagstaff (maybe Grand Canyon or Sedona)
Santa Monica Pier
U.S. Route 66, (also known as Route 66, The Main Street of America, The
Mother Road
btw: you will pass some part of Route 66.
so if you are into it. try to start from where Route 66 start:
