girl.
it is preferred to find someone on couchsurfing with verified address and
information.
read their reviews.
but during my Kauai trip, all the verified hosts are all booked two months
in advance. they are popular.
so i sent out a request to all ppl in Kauai on couchsurfing. and got some
offers.
i picked one, didnot have much info on this guy.
i had only his first name and phone number.
to be cautious, i googled his first name and phone number, and found his
linkenin and facebook. learned what he does and how old he is.
it turned out to be a very good experience for my first time couchsurfing.
i was his first couchsurfer he hosted as well. And he is very considerate,
checking on me on my every connecting flight to Kauai, made the bed for me.
made me feel at home at his beachhouse.
Just use commensense, and be courteous. i made him a chinese dinner and did
laundary of the beddings before i left. i think mostly it will be safe. i
have talked with a German friend, he did his 2 year couchsurfing around the
world, and he had great experiences from it.
it is fun and definitely better than staying at a hostel or hotel, apart
from free staying, you will get to talk to someone local, learn different
perspective views of the aroundings.
i will definitely try it again.
