As many as 10,000 tourists could gain a free flight to Japan if the
government budget approves an initiative from the Japan Tourism Agency.
Potential visitors will be asked to submit an online application for a free
flight, specifying which area of the country they would like to visit.
Following the trip visitors will be asked to write a review of their stay.
"We are hoping to get highly influential blogger-types, and others who can
spread the word that Japan is a safe place to visit," Japan’s tourism
agency's Kazuyoshi Sato told ABC News.
The plan is still at the proposal stage, and is subject to government budget
approval – but could start by April next year.
This follows the huge decrease in visitor numbers to Japan – which has
reportedly plummeted by half from about 680,000 in the period between March
and June 2011.
Tourists are understandably still concerned about the radiation levels
following the multiple blasts at the Fukushima Daiichi plant after the March
2011 earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
However, the agency stresses that “this initiative is still under
examination for government budgetary approval and is at this moment
undecided.
“When the initiative is decided to put into operation, Japan Tourism Agency
will officially announce details [on their website].” | w***5 发帖数: 8282 | | b*******e 发帖数: 6482 | 3 需要有一定程度的影响力?
