The squirrels are still out there. Even as the snow was still falling
a squirrel sat on the white branches, chowing a round nut.
How things live with the snow just as it came in serenity.
You have shoveled the stairs and salted the driveway.
Salts in your pockets and gloves, you come into the city to work,

make starting cars easier in winter, engine fluids, etc. the autoshops have
specials these days.
