research group in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental
Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly
University of Missouri at Rolla). The students will be involved in
interdisciplinary researches in chemistry, physics, material science,
computational and experimental mechanics.
The candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in material science,
aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering or
other related areas. A doctoral level or master student who is pursuing a
doctoral degree is preferred.
The GRAs will be investigating one of the following topics: nanocomposite
materials, multi-scale interfacial fracture, bio-integrated electronics, and
bio-implant materials.
The Department’s civil engineering program has been ranked consistently
among the top 50 graduate civil engineering programs by USNews. The most
recent ranking is 50 in 2016 USNews. The graduate enrollment is
