It was a two-four-hour test. For the general test, the morning test is not
that hard. I felt there were 3 or four problems, about which I was not
confident. But the afternoon general test, there were at least 10 problems
pretty tough. Some of them are much more difficult even they belong to our
principles(material mechanics). So if you guys have time(you have to read two
books), be prepared for the Civil principle, not taking the general test.

PE.,
1. FE Review Manual: Rapid Preparation for the General Fundamentals of
Engineering Exam
by Michael R. Lindeburg (Paperback)
try to get the newest version for this book-----this could be for the general
test all day long.
2. Civil Discipline-Specific Review for the FE/EIT Exam
by Robert H. Kim, Michael R. Lindeburg ---------This is ONLY for the civil
test in the afternoon if you choose the civil discipline, as I wish

no matter what kind of score it is. I hardly have time to prepare it. If I
could have another chance, I would spend more time on it.
But I felt in that afternoon I was lucky for not being impedded by the
difficult problems in Themodynamics listed in Lindeburge's review, which
totally destroyed my confidence in that part.

do good at it. While I was preparing for the test, I was always busy in
dealing with all kinds of pressure under my boss. I only could find 2 or three
hours in the evening for my preparation within 2 weeks. I think the total
hours I spent would be around 35-40 hours. But they usually spend 3-4 weeks
night time for the review to pass the exam. Some of them even reviewed twice
for teh FE review manual.
