limped to me in late position and I have 2 red Qs. Raise to 50 and get 4
callers. Flop SJ S6 D4. Continue bet 175. All folded to the guy in mid
position who raised to 475.
The guy is a solid player and able to make creative moves. I really don't
know how to handle this type of situation. Seems either I commit myself to a
big pot with overpair or fold right away. But if I always fold at this spot
, is it +EV over long run? How shall I mix the play with premium hands then? | f*****g 发帖数: 15860 | 2 as a 1/2 donk, my only comment is to not always raise preflop AND auto c-bet
flop with hands like QQ, you're playing your hands basically face up.
against unknown/creative players, they have all kinds of ways to torture you
. sometimes checking one street on this flop is not a bad idea at all. yes,
on one hand, you could give one "free" card, but on the other hand, your
hand range is wider too in their eyes.

with
jx or something like As4s.

I called the flop in the end.. turn S7... he bet another 600 and I had to
let my hand go... I think I thought too long on the flop which makes my hand
even more face up.

| k*******u 发帖数: 266 | 6 The raising size is a little too small preflop. Forget the comments that
limp in late position with QQ even after a few limpers - you can easily
balance your play by loosing your raising range pre-flop. For 5/10 game, if
you still play like a nit, I do not see how you can make money unless most
of time the 5/10 game is soft in you place.
On the flop, it depends on your read, but in general, if against a good
player, you should only call 20%-30% of the time and fold the rest of the
time. The result for a specific hand does not really matter here, you should
make a decision before the hand - do you want to dance with this level of
player with 300BB? Unless you feel comfortable, fold to a check-raise is
always right for you (not for the hand).
On the turn, I think you have to fold unless the soul read situation. | w***w 发帖数: 6301 | 7 For me, this is instant fold.
If he does this thing too often,I may call him once.
But in most cases people don't bluff.
He can't do this again and again since that is to show he is bluffing and
ask people to call him.
Once one player did this to me and after my fold he show his cards(air).
After a few hands I did the same thing to him, and he lost much bigger since
he called my flop reraise but did not dare to call my turn bet.
Right after that hand he left the table, I guess he would easily get tilted
if he stay at the table. |
