It covers a lot of fundermental stuff. pretty solid material for
beginners to understand basic poker concepts. It seems that it will mainly
cover MTT. I may watch some vid and read some slide myself.

Better than a lot of MTT books. I think I will follow this class to learn
MTT.
Very funny this class has no hw, no exams. Only need to play some
poker tourney to pass. I wish our school had such class when I was in
graduate school.
Also, they play on PS homegame. maybe we can start our homegame on PS
too.

he is also a ph.d student of MIT in Math/OR. has over 1m tourney winning
. very talented guy.
His buddy timex -one of the best online MTT player(also a CR pro) will
teach the class as well.
A lot of good stuff to follow if you want to learn MTT and the math
part of poker.
Maybe we can form a small study group to study MTT following this
course. I suck at MTT and want to improve badly. We can follow the class
each week and disscuss what we learn and our question/idea in this thread.

UWaterloo. I once read an article about him that said they were roommates
and Timex taught him a lot about poker.

and still pursue his Ph.d at MIT. He could make a lot more money if he
drop school and play poker fulltime.
I like his future a lot better compared with so many college drop out
poker pro, like durrrr and Phil. G.

But i feel the course emphasize probability and mathematics too much in the course. In the crucial point of a tournament (late stage), psychology is the key, IMO.

late stage and do not squeeze enough. but I think psychology is hard to
learn from a course though.
Timex will fly over for some guest lecture, maybe will cover some
psychology part. But I think this course can help me to review a lot of
fundermental stuff in poker and fix some leaks, especially in MTT. Math
helps a lot sometime too.
maybe we can start a new thread to discuss material in this class.
