set. later on i raised utg with JJ, he called, flop is JA8, i cbet 25% of
the pot he called, turn is J, i checked, he min bet, i called, river i bet
half the pot, he folds. his stats 71/7/1.1. how come the trap didnt work?
where did i go wrong? | f*****g 发帖数: 15860 | 2 bet is too small on flop, remember doyle's words, weak is strong, strong is
weak. you're UTG preflop aggressor, small leading out here 25% is VERY
suspicious.
why? think about this, what would you do if you hold, say, A9s (assuming you
ever raise this weak from UTG), TT, ATo, would you bet 25% here? of course
no, you may do the "standard", 1/2, 2/3 c-bets or check with your TT more
often. 25% here smells like begging for a call, not showing "weakness".
turn check is not good either, especially after you flop weakish bet. x% of
time he'll check behind, y% of time he'll do this small probe bet in
position with a WIDE range of hands, as weak as 55 or gutshot. you check
call, he'll be done with most of his hands. there won't be any more value as
you wish on river.
river just explains everything, he has NO hand to act all the way like this
and be able to call this 1/2 pot river bet. his stats is very loooooose weak,
you can't even count on him bluffing sometimes at all, 1.1 is like total weak lamb.
quads are great hands, but 95% of time, you win a small pot only, don't hang
over on them.
as in this hand, i'd like to play it the other way, bet 1/2 or little less
than 2/3 on flop to represent Ax (but not very strong) or QQ alike. if he
calls, more likely he has an Ax hand. i'd check raise (medium, not too big)
on turn, to build a pot size that i can easily bet 1/3 or 1/2 and make him
have to call on river. if he folds right here, he doesn't even have an A,
no point to make a drama for the blinds. i may even "dumb" bet bigger on
river once in a while, but for this guy, unless river is very wet like T to
complete a lot of str8s.
