So do ppl in US pay tax if they win in casinoes? I'd think so if they win
jackpot or something big. If you win say 1k from a poker table, who'd pay
tax on that? | t********t 发帖数: 5415 | 3 casino肯定是扣税的,外国人一律30%,有ssn的估计按照赌博税率扣吧。联邦的另算,
MA是20% | s*********k 发帖数: 1989 | 4 Say top prize is 10Mil, how much to keep if Fryking wins? How
much to keep if YJJ wins? | f*****g 发帖数: 15860 | 5 u mean the diff between u.s. players and chinese players?
for u.s. players, unless you're qualified as a professional gambler (as a
real job), you'll pay about 50% on your winnings. there were a few high
profile cases in the past.
for chinese, well, gray area i guess. it depends on whether it's treated as
income from gambling (illegal) or sports (like golf), and more importantly,
if you have connections, hehe.

| f*****g 发帖数: 15860 | 10 no way.
there're only a few small countries where you can "buy" citizenship, even
for that, it'll take one year or so, too late.
and i guess it counts as of the time you won it.

| g**s 发帖数: 1114 | 11 LOL, just read the article...
" He moved to England before the final table in an attempt to
avoid the massive taxes, but it didn't work, as it was too close to the FT."
So he tried and just didn't work out. For people who is are FT, and they
need pay huge tax, guess they should be able to do something to save money...

tax took most of it and he lost big in cash games afterwards. even he may
have a deal from PS, still, i guess he's done.
at such a young age, after these highs and downs, he should really want a
new meaningful life.
