I went to AC during the weekend and played 1/2 NL in Ceasars. Lost huge, $
400+. I was feeling like crap after playing 18 hours straight.
Some sick hands:
I got only AA in the pocket twice the whole session. On one occasion, I
limped in with AAs, big blinds raised to $12, seat 3 called, I was in early-
position re-raised to $42, big blinds called. Seat 3 was steaming because he
just lost a big pot ($400+) to other guy (QQ vs JJ allin, the other guy
caught J on the river). This time he called my

hehe, cmft, $400 is indeed not that much for 1/2NL, 2 buy-ins, considering
your bad luck.
as for bluffs, the whole "story" needs to make sense, bet size all the way
is a big tell. and you have to observe this player well for a while, i.e.,
from one single hand, it's really hard to tell he's bluffing or overbetting.
but bluffers make mistakes by bluffing too often and not every bluff makes
sense (# of players, position, board texture, remaining stacks...) try to "
friendly" talk to ppl about how

Just my 2c,
1/2 NL Live game is very difficult, or much more difficult than the '
supposedly' easiest live poker game.
the reason of being is, when there are good players, ok amatures, donkeys,
grandma/pas along side with ppl that just there throwing money away, you
just have to have another level of thinking.
on one side, live game you dont have that many chances of catching a monster
and running into full speed collision with this drunk or some young punk
who overbeting the pot on every street

nod, it's not an easy game.
consistent winners i know play TAG there and choose tables/players
frequently. it requires very good discipline, like this russian lady, she
lives in NYC (long drive too) and plays every weekend, she plays a very
fixed schedule (no over stay, no tilt...), she eats/drinks coffee just like
a normal day (no "i'm running hot i can't eat right now" type of things),
she plays starting hands strictly, she studies opponents all the time... she
doesn't win monster pots, but wi

Live poker has bigger swing because players usually play much more loose than
online players.
So you need much more money to backup.

yep, hehe, i have to bite her once.
1) she doesn't bluff;
2) she traps;
3) her starting hand range is pretty narrow and always raises with handful
hands;
4) she value bets.
to fight back, i'll try to deeply trap her next time with some trash hands
or monsters like AA, KK:
1) she can't build a big pot early as she wants. to play with her, pot
control is very important and position is critical;
2) she can't put me on trash as she thinks she knows me well.
3) i'll advertise some small hands (by sho

yeah, i'll try my best, hehe.
she represents a set of players whom i have to learn to beat (at least get
some fair share). if i can't, that means my play must be weak in some areas
and can be easily taken advantage of.
well, my next trip will be in a long while anyway, maybe labor day time.
last exhausting drive home really made me sick, got a red red red eye like
bunny for 3 days, lol.

AA is really tricky to play. You need play it slowly and carefully.
6,7 suit you need throw it away or raise it at least to medium size.
You do not want to lost money on no-raised pot. Limp is not an option for me
. I will throw it away or raise at least 2 size of the pot.
Last but not least, you should not play that long.

sort of agree on the 67 connected. it's better to raise preflop with suited
connectors.
for AA, it's better safe than sorry, raise preflop at least makes some money
. but to limp at early positions and come on top later before the flop is a
powerful move to lock down a few more bucks, but sometimes it backfires.it
got to me one time this pass weekend...
