In breaking news out of Washington, D.C., Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.)
introduced the Payments System Protection Act of 2008 on Thursday,
according to a statement released by the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling
Initiative. The bill requires the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve to work
together with the Department of Justice to determine what activities are and

It’s not a huge victory, but it’s a victory nonetheless. Poker players
today saw what will hopefully be the first of many legislative triumphs on
the path to clarifying the legal status of online poker in the United States
as a bill by Rep. Barney Frank cleared the House Committee on Financial
Services today.
The Payments System Protection Act (H.R. 6870), introduced by Frank,
