One player bet 20$ right in front of the button, button called, I called 15$
more, 3 players in the pot.
Flop is

I checked, the player bet before the flop bet 100$, to my surprise, button
all in !!(
she had 1000$ ) I had more than 1000$ at that time.
What can she have? should I call??

for a 200$ pot, she probably will raise a little bit or even just call, she
just need to cut the pot odds for a A high flush draw, that only need 200$ ,
not all in.
Think it again, why she all in 1000$ , she didn't want me in the pot at all.
the bettor only have 100$ left I forgot to tell you. so the bettor may call

If she had k-high or A-high flush already, then her hand is almost
impossible to beat. and it is not wise to call all-in coz it would scare ppl
away.
it's a gamble. But i would call.

hands. I just can't lay down a flush with a possibility of straight flush,
especially when I am pretty positive that the button has yet to have a flush
. Fortunately, her suiteQJ can't be QdJd. Well, i guess the difference is, i
am not the one who's actually playing money :)

1. if she held nuts, a raise to $200 is more reasonable;
2. if she's on flush draw, she would just call;
3. if she thought she had the best hand, either over pair, top-top, or 2-
pair, and wanted to prevent flush draw, a raise to $300 is more than enough
4. if she's bluffing, normally she didn't want to risk all her chips;
5. if she wanted to make you two believe she's bluffing, it's possible. but
again, if she had a K high or nu

correctly in a cash game. It's not tournament. You have no pressure. Being
conservative is the right approach. As long as you don't lose big and keep
winning, why bother.
I learned it my way in Las Vegas. That was the first time I realized why
local players acted so conservatively. They just wanted to move on and earn
stable income every day.

thoughts after I read your description. But a mistake I made was: I was
thinking in tournament concepts, not cash game, as I explained after I saw
your reply.
The bigger concern for me is: this game has no barrier. Young people (18-25)
are doing so well and they're so aggressive (at least in tournaments). I
really don't know what kind of people will play against you once you reach a
certain level. If everyone is so cunnin

But I got more experience though, that is kind of more important than theory.
just in case people know the theory, but in fact, there are so many people,
they don't know the poker theory and keep playing their way, lost some time,
win some time, totally lost, and keep coming back and play.
That is why smarter people can consistantly win( statistically) |
