slowdown in home sales and new housing starts this year. As oil and gas
companies announced more layoffs over the summer, the volatility has
impacted the housing market in an area closely tied to the energy industry.
"This has been an ongoing eventuality," said Aaron Layman, a Realtor in Katy
who said he was not surprised by early numbers from August showing a
decrease in sales in the Katy Independent School District area over the same
time last year. "Probably right around January or February is when we
really started to see it hit," he said of communities around Katy and west
Houston.
"They've been hit harder than Houston in general just because of their
direct ties to the Energy Corridor," said Layman, who owns Aaron Layman
Properties.
According to preliminary numbers from the Houston Association of Realtors,
sales inside the Katy school district in August were down 14 percent from
last year, from 638 closings in August 2014 to 549 this year. That's
following a slight uptick in sales in July when the district had 635
closings compared to 604 the same month last year. Overall, sales this year
are down 4 percent. |

！99号和fry路口的HEB，原来是HEB所有店中的高大上，现在蔬菜水果经常被翻得和惠
康一样乱，我真是瞠目结舌！ |
