发帖数: 25234 | 1 询价了几家 home insurance，拿到了几个价格。有的是用老公的名字，有的是我的名
字，都没有run credit score的情况。
有人问得很详细，有人几乎没问什么。
最后的报价从1900 到 2500多都有，大多在2500多。
跟我预计的相差很远。。。。
正在看表单，dwelling 一项， limit 给的就不同，有的是房价，有的是地税局估的比
较低的价格，然后好多小项也不一样。。。。
要疯掉了，这个有什么简单的指南可以补补课吗？

打电话给保险经纪，总算搞懂了一些，今晚发信给他们改 coverage。
还保险个人财产呢，我家现在都家净了。。。

insurance company to reimburse you for your potential loss based on its
current cash value (Cash Value Insurance) or the amount it would cost to
replace the asset (Replacement Cost Insurance). The replacement cost option
may be more expensive, but sometimes it can be well worth the added expense.
Cash Value Insurance Can Cost You
When you buy a home, for example, and insure it for cash value only, the
insurance company will only reimburse you for a loss up to the value of your
home. So, if you bought a $150,000 home and it was destroyed in a fire, the
insurance company will only pay you the $150,000 original minus your
deductible and depreciation as well. On this depreciation aspect, the
insurance company will deduct an amount for the wear and tear you have
caused on an asset before they pay out the claim. This can significantly
reduce your payment and potentially leave you in debt. |

insurance, the purchase price is not in concern; the calculated replacement
cost is what they insure.
So these scenarios might happen:
1. insured value is much higher than purchase price... could happen with big
houses in low value area; Customers are unhappy.
2. Insured value is much lower than purchase price... think about those old
house in high value area; it is hard to persuade mortgage company to accept
the low insured value, but we did;

发帖数: 288 | 11 几十万的房子都买了。千万不要在保险上太省了。在美国保险一定要买足。不要有侥幸
心理。否则倾家荡产都有可能。德州房子保险就是贵，因为靠海岸。 |
